PlanYourSpainTrip.com is an independent travel planning site dedicated to one country: Spain. We combine carefully researched destination guides with an AI-powered trip planner, so you can go from "I want to visit Spain" to a concrete, bookable itinerary — without the overwhelm.
What we do
Planning a trip to Spain means making a lot of decisions at once: which cities, how long in each, how to get between them, where to stay, and what's actually worth your time once you arrive. We help with all of it.
Our site has two main parts:
- Travel guides — detailed, practical articles covering specific destinations (Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Granada, Valencia, San Sebastián, Córdoba), road-trip routes, driving logistics, and seasonal advice. We write them to be genuinely useful, not search-engine filler.
- AI trip planner — an interactive tool that builds a personalized Spain itinerary based on your interests, travel dates, pace, and budget. You can try it here.
Who this site is for
We built this site for travelers who want to plan their own Spain trip without defaulting to a cookie-cutter package tour. Our typical reader is:
- An independent traveler researching their first (or third) trip to Spain
- A couple or small group wanting to combine city time with a road trip
- A planner who likes the research phase but also wants smart shortcuts
- Someone who values honest recommendations over glossy listicles
What we care about
How we support the site
PlanYourSpainTrip.com is independent and self-funded. Some of the links on the site are affiliate links — meaning we earn a small commission if you book a hotel, tour, or rental car through them, at no additional cost to you. This helps keep the site free for readers and free of intrusive ads.
We only link to partners we believe add real value. For the full details, see our Affiliate Disclosure.
About the author
PlanYourSpainTrip.com is run by Hagai Armoni, a traveler and software engineer who has spent more than a decade exploring Spain — most of its 17 autonomous communities, both coasts, the Pyrenees, the Picos de Europa, and a long list of white villages. The site grew out of years of frustration with generic Spain travel content: rankings of "the top 10 things to do in Madrid" written by people who clearly hadn't been there in five years.
Every guide on this site reflects first-hand visits, real driving distances, and actual hotel stays — not affiliate-feed scraping. The recommendations are the ones I make to friends planning their own trips. When something has changed (a museum has reopened, a restaurant has closed, a new ZBE zone has come into force), the relevant guide gets updated. Posts carry an "Updated [month]" date for that reason.
The AI itinerary planner that powers app.planyourspaintrip.com is built on the same first-hand database — over 28,000 hand-verified points of interest, hotels, and restaurants across Spain, with real coordinates and opening hours. It is the engine behind every personalised plan the site generates.
